Customer Primary onsite engineer for the build-out and testing of the networking components of the Microsoft System Architecture 2.0 project.
I was selected by Cisco Systems to be their onsite CCIE resource for Microsoft for the build-out and testing of the MSA network. The goal of the MSA project was to build and test a working "perfect world" enterprise network including - internet site, corporate environment and remote sites and publish the results as a recommended design for other companies. (See the following for the results: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/msa/2/all/solution/en-us/msa20ik/ vmhtm1.mspx
Cisco Systems partnered with Microsoft to provide all of the network infrastructure components for the MSA project including multiple Catalyst 6500 switches with Firewall service modules (FWSM) and Content services modules (CSM), Catalyst 4500 switches, 7200 series routers, 3600 series routers and other network components. I was the primary onsite resource to ensure best practice configuration and proper operation of these devices during the project.
Customer Design and implementation of VPN based WAN. The VPN design was highly resilient utilizing multiple hub sites with redundant Cisco 7200 routers and 6500 switches and spoke sites with appropriately sized access routers. Also part of the project was configuration of security components and intrusion detection, network management (SNMP and syslog), authentication authorization and accounting (AAA) and network time protocol.
Customer Design and implementation of IP call center for Enterprise Support Center (ESC). The ESC project involved migrating two geographically diverse Aspect based call centers (one in Seattle and one in Salt Lake) to a single Cisco IP based ACD system. The design included Cisco Call Manager, IPCC Express, voice gateways the existing WAN and agent end systems with CTI integration.
Customer Design and implementation of new core network and updated WAN. The design included redundant Catalyst 6500 and 4500 switches for resiliency and 7200 and 3700 series routers with web caching for the WAN. Also part of the project was configuration of security components, network management (SNMP and syslog), authentication authorization and accounting (AAA) and network time protocol. Spring 2004.
